Hello, and welcome!
I am Jillian Lloyd, LMHC, RPT
(and this is my dog Auri)
I am so glad you're here.
Supporting children and teens as they navigate challenges, discover their strengths, and grow into themselves is work that continues to inspire me every day. They have so much to teach. I walk away from each session with a new piece of wisdom! I have found that this work gives me a unique outlet for many parts of myself. I get to balance being playful and silly with my more relaxed side that searches for deeper meaning.
I have also watched my passion grow when working with parents and adults in general. While connecting with children has always felt natural to me, becoming a parent myself has given me an even greater appreciation for the complexities of raising children. That experience has strengthened my commitment to walking alongside parents with compassion, curiosity, and understanding.
I am committed to neurodiversity & LGBTQIA affirming practices, and I strive to be a welcoming space for individuals and families of all backgrounds. I recognize that cultural humility requires ongoing learning and self-reflection. I continually work to provide care that is inclusive, anti-racist, and responsive to the unique experiences of each family.
Outside of the therapy room, you will usually find me with my family exploring trails, baking, painting, dancing and going down research rabbit holes to discover my next creative interest!

My Approach
My approach to therapy is rooted in client-centered, attachment-focused care. I believe meaningful and lasting change often happens when we take a holistic view of the family system. Children do not grow in isolation, and I value partnering with parents and caregivers throughout the therapeutic process whenever appropriate.
When working with children, I stay grounded in Child-Centered Play Therapy which means I strive to create a safe, accepting space where children can explore, express, and make sense of their experiences through play. In this approach, I trust the child's innate capacity for growth and healing, meeting them where they are and following their lead. At the same time, every child and family is unique. Some families benefit from a more structured and directive approach and I tailor therapy to meet the specific needs and goals of each client.
My work with pre-teens, teens and adults draws from a variety of evidence-based and developmentally informed approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Polyvagal Theory, Synergetic Play Therapy, Jungian-informed therapy, Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT), Sandtray Therapy, mindfulness practices, bibliotherapy, and expressive arts techniques.
Education & Training
I received my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Anitoch University, Seattle in 2019. While attending graduate school, I completed specialized course trainings in Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, Jungian Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Child-Parent Relationship Training.
I value curiosity and believe that learning is a lifelong process. Some of my favorite moments come from discovering a new perspective, reading a book that challenges my thinking, or sitting with other therapists to learn from their experience. I bring that same curiosity into the therapy room, always asking how I can better understand and support the people who trust me with their stories.
